RoxRecap
Privacy Policy
Last updated September 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how RoxRecap collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the service. If you have a privacy question or request, email trevor@embedx.co.
Information we handle
Account information. When you sign in, Clerk provides RoxRecap with account identifiers and the profile details needed to authenticate you, such as your name or email address. Clerk also manages the sign-in session.
Race searches and results. When you search for an athlete or open a race result, we process the search text or result reference and the associated race information, which may include athlete names, event details, divisions, times, and splits.
Media and saved work. Media you add to an edit is processed in your browser. If you save a draft or finished recap, RoxRecap stores the media you chose to save along with file names, file sizes, race details, and editing information such as clip order, trim points, and image framing. The editor may read photo date metadata in your browser to help arrange media.
Payments and export records. When you start a paid export, RoxRecap creates a hosted checkout session with Stripe. Stripe handles payment details entered during checkout. RoxRecap receives the checkout result and keeps limited purchase records linked to your account, including the draft version, amount, currency, and Stripe checkout session reference, to verify export access and prevent duplicate charges. The checkout request also includes a RoxRecap account identifier, draft and version identifiers, and any applicable promotion code. RoxRecap does not receive or store full card numbers or card security codes through this checkout flow.
Usage and technical data. RoxRecap records limited first-party product events, such as searches, editing actions, and export outcomes. These events may include a browser-session identifier, an account identifier when signed in, event names, timestamps, and limited counts or categories. They are not intended to contain your media files or free-form content. We may also process technical request information to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
How we use information
We use information to:
- authenticate your account and protect access to saved work;
- look up race information and create, edit, export, and store recaps you request;
- process export purchases, verify checkout results, and provide the export access you request;
- maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve RoxRecap; and
- respond to support, privacy, and legal requests.
Service providers and race data
RoxRecap uses service providers to operate the app. Clerk handles authentication. Stripe provides hosted checkout and processes export payments. When you check out, Stripe receives the payment information you provide and relevant order data, which may include your RoxRecap account identifier, draft and version identifiers, product, and promotion code. Stripe handles that information under its own privacy practices; see the Stripe Privacy Policy. RoxRecap uses PostgreSQL for saved records and Replit App Storage, backed by Google Cloud Storage, for saved media and exports. Google Fonts may receive a request from your browser when the app loads its fonts.
Athlete and race searches are sent to HyResult to retrieve the requested information. Search text or result references may therefore be processed by HyResult under its own practices. We do not control the privacy or security practices of these independent providers.
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information if needed to provide the service through these providers, protect users or the service, respond to a valid legal request, or complete a business transfer.
Storage, access, and deletion
Saved drafts, media, and finished recaps are associated with your account and are stored in private services, not made publicly browsable by RoxRecap. You can delete saved drafts and finished recaps from the app; their associated files are permanently removed from App Storage. You can also choose Delete account from the account menu. That deletes your sign-in account, saved records, account-linked export entitlements and usage events, and all files in private storage associated with the account. Account and file deletion cannot be undone. Deleting your RoxRecap account does not delete payment records held by Stripe. Limited Stripe-related records retained by RoxRecap for payment verification, security, or recordkeeping may also remain after account deletion.
To request help with information you cannot remove in the app, contact us at trevor@embedx.co. We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service and meet security, operational, or recordkeeping needs. Limited database copies may remain in backups or technical logs for a period after deletion.
Cookies and browser storage
Clerk uses browser storage, including cookies, to keep sign-in sessions working. RoxRecap also stores a random session identifier in session storage for first-party usage events. Your browser may provide additional standard technical information when connecting to the service or its providers.
Your choices and requests
You can choose what media to add and save, delete saved drafts and recaps, and permanently delete your account from the account menu. Depending on the rules that apply to you, you may also request access to or correction of personal information by emailing trevor@embedx.co.
Security
We use access controls and private storage paths designed to restrict saved work to its account owner. Online services cannot be guaranteed completely secure, so please use a unique password with your sign-in provider and contact us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
Adults only
RoxRecap is intended for people who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly allow people under 18 to create accounts. If you believe someone under 18 has provided information to RoxRecap, contact us so we can review and remove the account information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as RoxRecap changes. We will update the date at the top of the policy and, when appropriate, provide notice in the app or by email before material changes take effect.
